Forget firefighters, Calgary police release 2016 canine calendar

It's just like the firefighter calendars, except there's more hair, less oil, no visible six-packs and a bit of a species barrier. But beyond that, it's just like the firefighter calendars.

In a move that's sure to be pawsitively received, the Calgary Police Service has unveiled its popular canine-unit calendar for 2016.

The $10 calendars raise funds for the Calgary Police Foundation's YouthLink program, which educates youth about crime and consequences. Sales have contributed almost $100,000 to the program in the last two years.

For 2016, the calendars will feature most of the unit's 22 dogs and also have a special 13-picture poster insert you can put on the roof of your dog's room.

They are available at the customer service desk of all Calgary Safeway locations.
