O’Chiese teen charged with stabbing at house party

A 17-year-old boy from the O’Chiese First Nation has been arrested following the stabbing of another teenager at a house party Saturday morning.

Police believe the accused stabbed another boy of the same age during a fight in a home on the reserve, northwest of Rocky Mountain House.

Two others at the party received minor cuts and abrasions. The victim of the stabbing lived in the home where the party took place.

He was taken to hospital in Calgary with non-life-threatening injuries.

The boy who was arrested will be brought before the court later this weekend to face charges. The names of both the suspect and the victim cannot be revealed under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
