TTC investigates video of subway driver using mobile device

The Toronto Transit Commission is investigating after a video popped up on YouTube, apparently showing a driver who was using a mobile device while operating a subway.

The video was posted online Friday. The train was headed south toward Bloor Station on the Yonge Street line, though it is not clear on what day the video was recorded.

TTC spokesperson Danny Nicholson told CBC News that operators are not permitted to use a cellphone while driving a vehicle. He confirmed that the TTC is aware of the YouTube video and is investigating.

Last year, the TTC reportedly fired several drivers who were caught using cellphones while driving city buses.
