Police investigating 2 suspicious deaths in Saint John hotel

The Saint John Police Force's major crime unit has shut off a section of a hotel in the city's east end, as they investigate what they are calling two suspicious deaths.

Four police cruisers, as well as the police forensics vehicle, were parked in front of the Best Western Plus Saint John Hotel and Suites on Major Brook Drive Tuesday night.

Investigators were scouring the grounds of the hotel, taking photos, including those of each licence plate in the parking lot.

The hotel was still open, and guests were coming and going, but left of the lobby, the corridor was closed off.

"There will be guys (police) coming, going over the next few days, you know how it is with these things," said Const. Matt Wier at the hotel. "But there won't be anything to share tonight. Probably in the morning though."

The suspicious deaths were reported in the early evening Tuesday.
