2024 Netflix Preview: 10 TV Shows We Can’t Wait to See
How do you measure a year? At IndieWire, it’s in shows streamed and movies watched; every year we get to December and find ourselves exclaiming “That came out this year?!” while measuring the year’s cultural highs and lows through what we consumed on-screen.
In 2023 alone, Netflix premiered more “Ginny & Georgia” and “Firefly Lane,” Emmy hopefuls “Beef” and “The Diplomat,” the heartfelt conclusions of “Never Have I Ever” and “Sex Education,” as well as breakout hits like “The Night Agent,” “One Piece,” and “Wednesday.” It was the year of Joe Goldberg taking London in “You” Season 4, of spinoffs “Queen Charlotte” and “XO, Kitty,” of “The Witcher” switching leads and “The Crown” ending its reign. Many of those titles, while expected, didn’t even have public release dates at the beginning of the year.

2024 will be no different, and as always we’re starting early and looking ahead. On Netflix, this will be the year of adaptations “Avatar: The Last Airbender” and “3 Body Problem” as well as the return of “Bridgerton,” “Squid Game,” and “Girls 5Eva.” It’s a year of books-turned-movies-turned-series with “One Day” and “Ripley” — and that’s just some of what we know. Netflix will reveal more of its 2024 slate as the year goes on, but for now we’re plenty excited for these 10 titles.
Here are 10 Netflix TV premieres we can’t wait for in 2024.
