Apple has unveiled its newest generation of iPad models with some major changes.

At its "Let Loose" event on Tuesday (May 7) Apple CEO Tim Cook introduced us to the new iPad Pro and iPad Air and its new Apple Pencil Pro.

We've been lucky enough to get invited to Apple's London offices for a sneak preview of the new models ahead of the official launch date of May 15.

Below are all the key details we think you need to know about the revamped iPads and their new accessories:

Apple iPad Pro (2024): Thinner, lighter, faster and more powerful

The new iPad Pro comes in 11-inch and 13-inch models and is the thinnest Apple product ever, with the 13-inch model just 5.1mm thick. That's the thinnest Apple product yet, with slimmer dimensions than the iPod Nano.

The models' fancy Ultra Retina XDR displays use Apple's new OLED technology, giving you extreme brightness and precise contrast, making everything pop even more from the screen. This is brilliant for watching movies on-the-go in the most cinematic way possible, and looks set to level up your streaming services.

The iPad Pro is also fitted with Apple's new M4 chip, meaning it's faster and runs smoother than ever. According to Apple, it's also four times faster than the previous model which used the M2 chip.

The 11-inch model is priced at £999 and the 13-inch model costs £1,299, they are both available in Silver and Space Black.

The new iPad Pros will be available to order in-store from May 10, and online from EE on May 15. Further EE deals may be announced nearer to their pre-order date as well.

Apple iPad Air (2024): Now with the M2 chip and a new bigger size

As for the iPad Air, the latest generation comes in two sizes for the first time – 11-inches and 13-inches.

This time around, the iPad Air is fitted with the M2 chip, meaning performance should be enhanced. That's the same processor Apple uses as the brains of several high-end MacBooks and the immersive Vision Pro headset.

Apple has also repositioned its front-facing camera, meaning you'll be right in the centre of the frame on FaceTime. And the Air now has a larger starting storage size at 128GB – more room to download every season of Supernatural sounds great to us.

The 11-inch model costs from £599, with the larger version setting you back £799. The iPad Air is available in Blue, Purple, Starlight, and Space Grey. Sorry, fans of the pink version of the 2022 Air.

The new iPad Airs will be available to order in-store from May 10 and online from EE on May 15. Again, more EE deals may be announced nearer to their pre-order date.

Apple also launched a new Magic Keyboards for the iPad Air and iPad Pro, both of which have aluminium wrist rests, larger trackpads, and a proper funciton key row like the best wireless keyboards. They're also lighter than they were before.

The Magic Keyboard will set you back £299 for the 11-inch version and £349 for the 13-inch version – the prices are the same whether you're picking one for the Air or the Pro, but you need to make sure to buy the right one.

And for the artists among us, there's the new Apple Pencil Pro which is priced at £129.

The Pencil Pro connects magnetically to the side of your iPad. However, if you do misplace it you can easily locate it in the Find My app.
