Arlington Renegades force five turnovers, beat the Orlando Guardians 18-16

Forcing a season-high five turnovers, the Arlington Renegades posted an 18-16 win over the Orlando Guardians at CampingWorld Stadium on Saturday.

The Renegades improved to 4-4 and remain in second place in the XFL’s South Division.

Orlando fell to 1-7.

Defensive lineman Bruce Hector forced a fumble in the third quarter. The ball was recovered by De’Vante Bausby who returned it 48 yards for a defensive touchdown.

De’Veon Smith rushed for a score in the third quarter for the only Renegades’ offensive touchdown of the day.

Kicker Taylor Russolino booted field goals of 21 and 31 yards for the rest of the Arlington scoring.

Quarterback Luis Perez made his Renegades debut, completing 16 of 25 passes for 190 yards. His 55-yard completion to LuJuan Winningham is the longest pass play of the season for Arlington.

Arlington returns to the road next week when the Renegades face the D.C. Defenders on Saturday at 11 a.m.
