Armie Hammer's Estranged Wife Elizabeth Chambers Breaks Silence on Ongoing Controversy

Armie Hammer's estranged wife Elizabeth Chambers is breaking her silence on the ongoing controversy surrounding the actor.

Chambers, who filed for divorce from the Call Me By Your Name star in July, commented on a report about Hammer's director and co-star in the Oscar-nominated film.

Just Jared shared a report on Instagram Thursday about director Luca Guadagnino and Timothée Chalamet's upcoming project, titled Bones & All.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie follows the story of a woman who is "on a cross-country trip as she searches for the father she's never met in an attempt to understand why she has the urge to kill and eat the people that love her."

"No. Words." Chambers, 38, commented on Just Jared's post, which was captured by Instagram account Comments by Celebs.

It's the first time that Chambers has spoken out after several alleged messages were leaked by an anonymous social media account, House of Effie, according to Page Six. The messages, which have not been verified by PEOPLE, included cannibal fantasies that were allegedly from Hammer.

Since the alleged messages were leaked, Hammer has dropped out of two projects: the action-comedy Shotgun Wedding starring Jennifer Lopez and the upcoming Paramount+ series The Offer.

In a statement obtained by PEOPLE after Hammer, 34, dropped out of Shotgun Wedding, the actor said, "I'm not responding to these bull— claims but in light of the vicious and spurious online attacks against me, I cannot in good conscience now leave my children for 4 months to shoot a film in the Dominican Republic."

"Lionsgate is supporting me in this and I'm grateful to them for that," he said.

A production spokesman told PEOPLE at the time, "Given the imminent start date of Shotgun Wedding, Armie has requested to step away from the film and we support him in his decision."

Chambers and Hammer married in May 2010 and have two children together: daughter Harper Grace, 6, and son Ford Douglas Armand, 4. When Chambers announced their split last year, she said on Instagram, "It has been an incredible journey, but together, we've decided to turn the page and move on from our marriage."

She added that "our children and relationship as co-parents and dear friends will remain our priority."
