John Cena Makes An Appearance As Fak's Brother

The Bear has a lot of celebrity cameos, but none have been quite as goofy as John Cena's. He appears in episode 5, "Children," as Neil's (Matty Matheson) brother, Sammy, who comes to The Bear to buff the floors before the restaurant is photographed. After fighting with his other brother, Ted (Ricky Staffieri), and smoking in the restaurant, Carmy sends him on an important task to procure a duck.

Sydney Gets Offered Another Job

In episode 4, when Syd still hasn't signed the partnership agreement, she runs into Adam Shapiro, who works as chef de cuisine at another restaurant, Ever—that is, until Chef Terry (Olivia Coleman) decides to close it. Later, in episode 7, "Legacy," Shapiro meets with Syd to tell her that he's opening his own restaurant and wants her to be chef de cuisine. She would also be a partner in this new venture with an $80,000 salary plus benefits. Does she take it? We'll have to wait until season 4.

We Learn How Tina Ended Up at The Original Beef of Chicagoland

In episode 6 "Napkins" we get a glimpse into Tina's (Liza Colón-Zayas) past. After discussing a rent increase with her husband, she arrives to her office job to find out she has been fired. She spends weeks searching for another job, but has no luck. Feeling defeated, she stops into The Original Beef of Chicagoland, where Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) gives her a free sandwich and a coffee. Mikey (Jon Bernthal) sees her crying and they strike up a conversation, eventually offering her a line cook position at the restaurant.

Natalie Gives Birth With An Unexpected Person By Her Side

In episode 8, "Ice Chips," Natalie (Abby Elliott) goes into labor while stopping to get paper towels for the restaurant. Problem is, everyone she calls doesn't pick up. She ends up calling her mother, Donna Berzato (Jamie Lee Curtis), while driving herself to the hospital. But given their strained relationship, Natalie hadn't even told her mother she was pregnant. Eventually, Pete (Chris Witaske) arrives, but while Natalie and Donna are together the two connect and seem to strengthen their relationship.

There's No Resolution With Claire

Throughout season 2, Carmy questions whether his relationship with Claire is distracting him from the restaurant. Then, in the season 2 finale, Claire overhears him say that their relationship is a "waste of time."

With their relationship in flux (and based on hints in the trailers), we knew she'd make an appearance again to tie up loose ends. In the beginning of season 3, Carmy's co-workers ask what happened with Claire during the friends and family dinner.

Later, in episode 9, Ted asks Carmy, "Do you think about [Claire]?"

"Not really. Just like every day," said Carmy.

"She's haunting you. Why don't you just say you're sorry?"

Neil and Ted then show up at Claire's work to try to say sorry for Carmy—without him knowing—calling her "the peace."

Surprisingly, Claire and Carmy never actually talk or find closure in this season.

Carmy Tells Off His Former Boss

At the funeral dinner for the restaurant Ever, Carmy sees his former boss (Joel McHale) from when he was working in New York City. Carmy regularly gets flashbacks from his time there showing us how emotionally abusive his boss was.

"After fuck you, I don't have much," Carmy said to the chef.

"You were an okay chef when you started with me. And you left an excellent chef so you're welcome," he replied.

The Bear Might Be In Trouble If It Gets a Bad Review

Speaking of that photography session, it was for a restaurant review from the Chicago Tribune—which the team didn't even know was happening. Money is tight at The Bear, and Uncle Jimmy (Oliver Platt) and Computer (Brian Koppelman) keep pushing the team to spend less and make more money. Jimmy essentially tells Carmy that the restaurant might close if the review is negative. But, of course, the season finale ends with Carmy receiving multiple calls from Uncle Jimmy and Computer and several positive and negative words from the review flash across the screen. But to find out what exactly the review said and what's in store for The Bear, we'll have to wait until season 4.
