Reports suggest that suspended Sen. Patrick Brazeau is working at a strip club

It's confirmed: Patrick Brazeau is now a day manager at an Ottawa strip club.

According to the National Post, the Barefax Gentlemen's Club in Byward Market acknowledged that the suspended senator is indeed employed there.

The Ottawa Sun broke the story late on Tuesday evening.

"When the Sun dropped by the popular Byward Market strip club Tuesday night to speak to Brazeau, the manager on duty said Brazeau was not on the premises but would not elaborate.

"A second source who works at the club but wished to remain anonymous later confirmed he is an employee at the club."

Radio Canada is reporting Brazeau completed two weeks of training before starting his new job this week.

Neither Brazeau nor his lawyer have yet publicly commented on the validity of the story.

Since being suspended from the Senate without pay, Brazeau has been very open about his job hunt.

Late last year he posted a brief synopsis of his CV on Twitter which actually helped him land a position as a journalist with Frank Magazine. The stint with the satirical publication lasted one month until the editor fired him for his "narcissistic ramblings."

For most of us, living without employment income is unfeasible. Brazeau has even more challenges with mounting legal expenses.

Earlier this month, the RCMP announced that they have proceeded to charge Brazeau and former Liberal senator Mac Harb with breach of trust and fraud for allegedly inappropriately claiming a taxpayer-funded housing allowances.

The embattled senator also faces assault and sexual assault charges from an incident last summer. Court proceedings for that are expected to continue later this year.

None of the allegations have been proven in court.

Moreover, as explained by CTV News, Brazeau might be on the verge of losing his home in Gatineau.

"The bank alleges that Brazeau and his estranged wife, Sunshine Tenasco, failed to repay the balance of the mortgage’s maturity, which was due Jan. 18, and abandoned the home earlier that month," CTV noted in a report published on Feb. 7.

Brazeau's suspension from the red chamber for his role in the Senate expense scandal is for the duration of this parliamentary session, which is likely to last until the next federal election in 2015.

His court battles, however, could presumably prolong the suspension.

Update: 12:00 p.m. (EST)

Journalists who waited outside the front door of the Barefax Gentlemen's Club at 11 a.m. (EST) have reported that they saw Brazeau walk into the strip club. He chose not to speak to reporters.

One reporter, who got into the club, was able to speak to the venue's owner. Here's what she tweeted:
