“But first… wait, is that a zombie?”

Head to the closest mall food court and you’ll see it: a handful of teenagers sitting around each other, angling their heads upwards, taking shot after shot of themselves.

If you think selfies are a waste of time, this video should help you scare the habit out of any perpetrators.

German film student Meelah Adams didn’t use any money to create Selfie From Hell for her bachelor’s thesis, reports Horror Buzz.

Along with acting as the female lead in the video, Adams produced, sound edited, and did make-up, while her friend Erdal Ceylan directed and did camera work and production design, according to We Are Indie Horror.

This video, along with another in the series called Dreamy, were born from a novel and screenplay the two are working on, and Adams hopes these viral videos will help them get traction for said novel, according to moviepilot.com.

“The reactions to the video were great and some people have been asking whether or not it will become a feature-length film,” Adams shared on moviepilot.com. “Such a movie would cost a lot of money, which we just don’t have… But, who knows what could happen ;)”

We’ll have to see how often the selfie-obssessed use their front facing camera after this.
