‘Insta-breakup’ after user dumps girlfriend via Instagram photo

Getting dumped is awful…getting dumped over the phone is worse. Getting the “it’s not you, it’s me” spiel over a text message is the ultimate low blow.

That is, until a highschooler in Georgia decided to say ‘sayonara’ to his girlfriend using Instagram. Yep, Instagram.

Don’t look so shocked. Look at all the technology at our fingertips. It was only a matter of time before we began to dump each other via the Internet, and our future generation does not disappoint.

Instagram user @Cjkarl11 decided the best way to break up with his girlfriend was by posting a happy picture of them two of them, and then beside it posted the same photo, only this time, he cropped her out.

Hashtag-Jerk!

You know he spent time to perfect this little sans-girlfriend montage, cropping the picture just right, and coming up with the witty hashtag for optimal heartbreak.

#TranformationTuesdays, traditionally the hashtag used to post weight-loss selfies as forms of encouragement, was what @Cjkarl11 decided would be perfect to accompany his break up post. Only his #TransformationTuesday included shedding his girlfriend, not pounds.

The girlfriend, who clearly didn’t get the memo that she was being dumped, commented on @Cjkarl11’s picture. “Is this your way of breaking up with me,” she wrote, more than likely confused and/or embarrassed.

As both Instagram accounts are private, we will never know the full details of this high school soap opera, but we can assume the relationship ended like most high school relationships do … poor girl, someone get the ice cream ready.
