Jimmy Kimmel gets guided tour of Toronto from Guillermo

A lot of stars were recently in town for the Toronto International Film Festival, but none of them explored the city and took a tour quite like Jimmy Kimmel.

The late-night talk show host and his sidekick security guard Guillermo were in Toronto earlier in September to report live from red carpet events and movie premieres while filming segments for Jimmy Kimmel Live.

One of those segments is a very funny, but incredibly inaccurate tour of Canada's largest city.

The tour begins with Guillermo picking Kimmel up outside old city hall in a massive sedan that could have been in a 70s cop show.

The car squeeks as Kimmel asks questions about statues and buildings while Guillermo incorrectly says his answers into a microphone similar to those used by guides.

They drive past the CN Tower, Wayne Gretzky's and the Rogers Centre. Guillermo says it is where the Blue Rays play. Kimmel says he prefers the DVDs. The two walk barefoot along Sugar Beach and strangely enough no one approaches them.

Then they go to Guillermo's favourite place in Toronto - Celine Dion's spot on the Walk of Fame.

"When I'm sad, depressed I come here," says Guillermo. "Then I feel better."

The video ends with the two belting out some Dion lyrics as they gaze into each others' eyes.

When Kimmel was in Toronto, he showed his knowledge of the city and Canada, but held little back when it came to politics.

"Maybe (Rob Ford) wants everyone to drive big cars because that's probably the only kind of vehicle he can fit in," he says to the Toronto Star. "I've been to Toronto before and I always have a great time. Canadians are thinner and nicer than Americans and more fun than Matt Damon."

Kimmel also mentioned the federal political scene commenting on how left-leaning Canada has a right-of-centre leader while the U.S. has an African-American liberal for president.

"Maybe it's the ultimate remake of one of those bad Freaky Friday movies," he tells the Star. "I can only tell you one thing. If I see Lindsay Lohan on the streets of Toronto, I'm running the other way."

Reports show a consortium of Tourism Toronto, Canadian Tourism, Ontario Tourism, Tourism Niagara and Air Canada paid about $450,000 to finance Kimmel's trip.

Despite the inaccuracy of the tour, Kimmel and Guillermo both seem interested in moving to Toronto - Kimmel because the bacon here is better than American bacon and Guillermo because we have syrup.
