Yeah, baby: The most obvious opening ever for Mike Myers baby news

Canadian actor Mike Myers is having a baby.

That dull opening line misses an effortless bit of news humour, served up on a silver pancake platter with a shmoke on the side. Worry not, however, because it seems every single news anchor on the continent took advantage of Myers' signature line in the Austen Powers films, which we can only hope he used himself when he heard the news of his wife Kelly Tisdale's second pregnancy.

Yeah, baby.

Late Night with Conan O'Brien compiled these clips from local news coverage:

Some of the news anchors choose to amp up their voices for the most obvious lead ever written, channeling their groovy inner selves. Others cling to their stoic newscaster tones to avoid sounding ridiculous for three seconds doing an Austen Powers impression.

Others, still, can't seem to hide the awkwardness of declaring "yeah, baby!" mid-newscast, and so they say it as though it's a question, smirk, or suck their teeth uncomfortably for a second after saying the line.

Myers and Tisdale, who were married in 2010, already have one son named Spike and People magazine reported the second pregnancy this week.

"We are thrilled," the couple told People.
