Looks like Batman’s protecting more than Gotham these days.

After a five-year-old dressed as Batman caught wind that a toddler was stuck inside a car on a burning hot afternoon, he did what any other superhero would do: saved the day.

One-year-old Iris Adamski was sitting inside the car while her grandparents loaded their shopping into the trunk, when all of the doors suddenly locked – with the keys inside, reports the Mirror.

“I had just put the pram away when the door locked; I don’t know what happened, but we couldn’t get her out,” Iris’ grandmother Caroline Penny told the Daily Mail.

She and Iris’ grandfather John immediately called the local police, who smashed the rear window in an effort to save the tot. There was only one problem: they couldn’t fit through the window.

That’s when Zavi Ahmed and his mom Emma – who he had begged to let him dress up as the Caped Crusader earlier that day – came to the rescue.

The little superhero crawled through the rear window of the Volkswagen Beetle, fetched the keys, and ultimately, saved the day.

“That morning he decided he wanted to be dressed as Batman, I don’t know why,” his mom Emma told the Daily Mail. “We couldn’t believe it. Of all days for him to dress up and that happens.”

“It really was a case of Batman to the rescue,” John Penny said.

And what did the five-year-old have to say about his heroic deed?

“I always feel like a superhero,” he said, “but that day was special.”
