Filmmaker Michael Lei met Marty Daniels, a 78-year-old Korean War veteran, in a salsa class at the University of Southern California.

Lei quickly knew he wanted to share Daniels' remarkable story.

In a video for SoulPancake, Daniels describes dancing with his wife, who died three months ago after a battle with breast cancer, for 60 years.

"She pulled me out of my shell. Dragged me out to the dance floor and I've been dancing ever since," Daniels says.

"We were married for over 60 years and a day didn't go by when we didn't dance together," he adds. "I miss her very much."

Daniels is now planning to complete the bucket list he first established with his wife years ago: a dance tour through South America that includes dancing the tango in Argentina, the samba in Rio, and the cha-cha in the Dominican Republic.

"I've decided I'm going to follow through on it," he says of fulfilling the dreams he once shared with his wife.

"She's still going to be a big part of it. I catch myself talking to her all the time. It's never over."

"I can't wait," he adds.
