Britney Spears posts picture of cocktail following ex Justin Timberlake's arrest
Britney Spears shared a picture of a cocktail hours after her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake was arrested for drink-driving.
The pop star seemed in a mood to celebrate as she shared a snap of the fruity-looking concoction on her Instagram account.
“It’s the simple things you know,” she penned in the accompanying caption, followed by two tulip emojis.
She shortly followed it up with a video of her posing in a dress ready to hit the town in Las Vegas.
Her caption read: “First cocktail dress ever!!! Playing in Vegas today and tonight too.”
The Toxic hitmaker’s post came the same evening ex and fellow singer Timberlake’s brush with the law.
Timberlake was roasted by comedian Ricky Gervais and became an instant internet meme after reportedly claiming to officers that he had only had one martini after his car was spotted swerving as he drove around the Hamptons in New York state.
He was eventually charged with a driving-while-intoxicated misdemeanor and banned from driving in New York for one year after repeatedly refusing to do a breathalyser test.
His next court date us scheduled for July 26.
There is no love lost between former couple Spears and Timberlake, who dated for three years having originally shot to fame together as Disney child stars.
Spears opened up in her 2023 memoir, The Woman In Me, about the relationship, which lasted from 1999 until 2002, and revealed that she had an abortion while dating the N*Sync star.
She also accused him of making her look like a "harlot who’d broken the heart of America's golden boy" when they broke up.
Timberlake - who is now married to actress Jessica Biel, with whom he shares two children - faced an instant backlash following the book’s publication.
Earlier this year Spears appeared to offer an olive branch to her former flame as he attempted to revive his music career.
She soon took it back however after he appeared to mock her during one of his live shows.
