Brood X Cicadas 'in Full Swing' in Pennsylvania State Park

Brood X cicadas have come out of hibernation, emerging from the ground for the first time in 17 years across the eastern United States.

Footage shared by Gifford Pinchot State Park in Lewisberry, Pennsylvania, on May 21, shows cicadas covering a tree and husks littering the ground.

“The Brood X periodical cicada emergence is in full swing now!” wrote the park on the Facebook post. Credit: Gifford Pinchot State Park via Storyful
