Bruce Springsteen Postpones Remaining 2023 Concerts As He Recovers From Ulcer Treatment – Update

UPDATED, 9:50 AM: The Boss’ sabbatical has been extended. Bruce Springsteen said today that he has postponed all of his concert dates through the end of the year “on doctor’s advice” and “out of an abundance of caution” as he recovers from ulcer treatment.

The affected shows include the band’s L.A.-area concerts set for December 4 and 6 at the Kia Forum. All of the dates to be rescheduled are TBA.

“Thanks to all my friends and fans for your good wishes, encouragement, and support,” Springsteen said in a statement posted on social media. I’m on the mend and can’t wait to see you all next year.”

The news comes three weeks after the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer postponed all September concert dates while he received treatment for symptoms of peptic ulcer disease.

Bruce Springsteen has postponed all of his concerts in September as he gets treatment for symptoms of peptic ulcer disease. “Over here on E Street, we’re heartbroken to have to postpone these shows,” he said on social media. “We’ve been having a blast at our U.S. shows, and we’re looking forward to more great times.

The announcement added that “the decision of his medical advisers is that he should postpone the remainder of his September shows.”

The news comes three weeks after The Boss postponed a pair of dates in Philadelphia, citing an unspecified illness. Earlier this year, Springsteen had to miss being honored by his native New Jersey with a proclamation declaring “Bruce Springsteen Day” because he contracted Covid.

The first affected show is Thursday night’s gig at the JMNA Wireless Dome in Syracuse, NY. Springsteen, 73, and the E Street Band also were set to play this month in Baltimore, Pittsburgh (twice), Uncasville (Connecticut), Albany, Columbus and Washington, D.C.

The tour is scheduled to resume November 3 with a gig in Vancouver, with two Los Angeles-area stop at the Kia Forum in early December.
