Cardi B Makes Dramatic Arrival in Voluminous Black Windowsen Dress That Covered Met Gala 2024’s Entire Red Carpet
Cardi B brought yet another statement train to the Met Gala red carpet on Monday in New York. The rapper, who’s been known to favor over-the-top silhouettes at the annual ball, opted for a custom design by Windowsen.
The Chinese label crafted a black gown featuring layers upon layers of tulle ruffles and pleated fabric. Cardi’s look came with a towering turban. The “Like What” artist also accessorized with a large emerald pendant necklace and a matching set of earrings.

Stylist Kollin Carter, whose other clients include Kelly Rowland and Victoria Monét, dressed Cardi B for the occasion.
The rapper wore her waist-length dark tresses straightened, while makeup artist Erika La Pearl gave her metallic green eyeliner and bold pink blush.
Carter and Cardi B have been working together since 2017. Last year, Cardi B arrived in a custom Chenpeng Studio gown featuring latex camellia appliqués and a quilted skirt — clear nods to the gala’s honoree, Karl Lagerfeld.

The Met Gala raises funds for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City and celebrates the Costume Institute’s annual exhibits. This year’s theme, “The Garden of Time,” nods to the “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” exhibit, which will open to the public on Friday. The 2024 event is notably cochaired by Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth and Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour.
