Chris Pine Is a Ballet Boy—and He Loves "Everything About It"

"They're speaking in French and telling you to do things, and if you haven't done it before, it's like geometry."

Chris Pine just proved that he is probably the most endearing leading man in Hollywood. No, we're not talking about his recent transformation into a silver fox, nor are we talking about his increasingly playful, unconventional fashion sense. We're not even talking about how he remained classy as ever throughout 2022's iconically messy Don't Worry Darling press tour. We are talking about the fact that this man is a religious, rigorous student of the art of ballet.

Yes, Chris Pine takes ballet classes. And apparently, he absolutely loves them. "I love everything about it," he told People. "It's so hard. It's great for your body just from an aesthetic standpoint. It requires such tremendous strength."

He added that in addition to being a killer physical workout, it gives his brain some exercise, too. Because, you know... French. "They're speaking in French and telling you to do things, and if you haven't done it before, it's like geometry," he said. "It massages your brain."

It seems that Pine isn't afraid to embrace his delicate, feminine side. "The core is the strength, and then your arms are supposed to be really light and delicate," he said. "I just love the combination of the masculine and the feminine in that regard."

Here he is leaving a dance studio last year:

Apparently, Pine started taking classes two years ago. Back in November 2023, he told Live with Kelly and Mark that he was largely inspired by his mother and sister. "My sister danced at Joffrey. My mom danced forever, so I was kind of around it," he said.

Last year, Pine even took part in a ballet-themed photoshoot for Esquire.

As if we needed another reason to adore Chris Pine!
