Construction of third Fort Worth CarMax dealership to finish by March 2024. Here’s where

CarMax is expanding its presence in Fort Worth with another dealership on the way.

The new CarMax dealership is coming to north Fort Worth at the intersection of Interstate 35 and Heritage Trace Parkway. The new store will be just minutes from the Alliance Town Center shopping center.

Word broke in October 2022, that CarMax had plans to open a third store in Fort Worth, but no location had been given at the time of the announcement.

Nearly a year later, the company confirmed with the Star-Telegram on Monday that the new dealership is the one coming to north Fort Worth.

No opening date has been set for the third CarMax dealership, which started construction in August and is expected to be finished in March 2024, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The $12-million construction project is for an 8,523-square-foot building.

The company already has two locations in Fort Worth that cover both south (4700 River Ranch Blvd.) and east (8400 Anderson Blvd.) sides of the city. The new dealership will serve the north side of town.

CarMax is one of the nation’s biggest vehicle sellers, strictly focusing on selling used cars. The company has 244 stores across the country, including 26 in Texas.
