Crazy Weasel robbery results in North Preston man charged
Halifax RCMP say a man has been charged after an armed robbery at a restaurant on Highway 7 in Lake Echo earlier this week.
Just after 10 p.m. on Monday, police allege three masked men went into Crazy Weasel, a pizzeria, and held up two employees at gunpoint before running off. A 19-year-old man was arrested a short time later.
The teenager, from North Preston, is charged with:
- Robbery with a firearm.
- Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace.
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm.
- Unauthorized possession of a motor vehicle.
He's set to appear in Dartmouth provincial court on Monday for a bail hearing. The 19-year-old man will remain in custody until then, said the Mounties.
Police continue to look for information on the robbery and ask anyone who may have seen anything suspicious around the restaurant, just before the incident, to call them.
