After knowing the Trump family for years, Guilfoyle and Don Jr. started dating in 2018, following his divorce from his ex-wife Vanessa, with whom he shares five children. After one date with Donald Trump’s eldest son, Guilfoyle said she knew the relationship would last.

Since getting engaged in 2020, Guilfoyle and Don Jr. have stuck by each other’s sides, whether on the campaign trail or at their home with their blended family in Jupiter, Florida.
"We really are a team, we support each other, we’re best friends," Guilfoyle shared during a 2021 appearance on Successful Philanthropy. "We have great conversations and a lot of laughs together. It’s great we have such a strong relationship. It’s never wavered and I really feel blessed to be a part of it.”
So who is Donald Trump Jr.’s fiancée? Here’s everything to know about Kimberly Guilfoyle and her relationship with the businessman.
She was born and raised in Northern California
Guilfoyle was born on March 9, 1969, in San Francisco. Her parents, Mercedes and Anthony, raised her in the Mission District before moving to the Westlake area. When she was just 10 years old her mother died. After this loss, Guilfoyle has said she remembers growing up “surrounded by love,” with her “own personal guardian angel watching over” her.
“I remember feeling safe and happy and like there was nothing in the world a boy could do that a little girl couldn't — and that has carried over all my life," Guilfoyle told SFGate in 2001.
Guilfoyle went on to attend Mercy High School in San Francisco, and later, the University of California Davis.
She has a law degree and served as an assistant district attorney
After graduating from UC Davis, Guilfoyle enrolled at the University of San Francisco School of Law, per SFGate. While in school, she interned at the San Francisco district attorney's office, which later helped her launch a career as a prosecutor.
In 1994, she graduated from USF and got a job in the same office where she had interned during law school. Later, Guilfoyle moved to Los Angeles, where she was hired as a deputy district attorney, working on adult and juvenile cases, according to SFGate.
During her time there, she was awarded top prosecutor from the district attorney’s office — but just a few years later, she returned to San Francisco. In 2000, Guilfoyle was rehired by the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office where she served as an assistant district attorney as well as the city’s animal abuse prosecutor. She worked there until 2004.
She began dating Don Jr. in 2018
Guilfoyle was first linked to Don Jr. in early 2018, around the time his ex-wife, Vanessa, filed for divorce. Shortly after beginning their relationship, the pair were spotted arriving at a party together. Then, in June, they were seen showing lots of PDA during a date night in New York City.
The couple’s relationship was officially confirmed later that month when Don Jr.’s ex Vanessa showed her support for their blossoming romance. On social media, she even defended Guilfoyle from the backlash she was facing due to her relationship with Don Jr.
“The lengths people will go to attack a woman simply because she’s dating Don,” Vanessa posted on X (formerly Twitter). “We’ve been separated for over 9 months and respect each other’s decisions & privacy. We’ll focus on raising our great kids."
Over the course of the next year, Guilfoyle and Don Jr. made numerous appearances together — from celebrating Guilfoyle’s 50th birthday to spending time at Trump's club Mar-a-Lago to hanging out at the White House. In 2021, the pair bought an estate in Jupiter, Florida for their blended family of Don Jr.'s five kids and Guilfoyle's son.
“We’re very committed and very in love. He is my sweetheart. I already feel married and committed to him, 100 percent," Guilfoyle said on Successful Philanthropy in 2021. "Being his wife would be ... fantastic. I absolutely adore the family."
She had a brief career as a model and actress
When Guilfoyle was in law school, she had a short-lived career as a model to help pay for her education.
“I knew I wanted to go to law school and it ended up being a great way to pay for it. I modeled everything from clothes, swimwear and lingerie, including Victoria’s Secret!" Guilfoyle told PEOPLE in 2014. "I met an incredible number of interesting people through modeling and really learned a lot about self-confidence and self-worth."
The former prosecutor also pursued acting and appeared in a movie called Happily Even After in 2004, where she portrayed an attorney.
She was a host on Fox News
In 2004, Guilfoyle headed to New York to pursue a career in broadcasting. She signed on to host the Court TV series Both Sides and served as a legal analyst for numerous programs, including Good Morning America, Larry King Live and Anderson Cooper 360.
Then, in 2006, Guilfoyle joined Fox News as the host of The Lineup. When the program was canceled, she remained with the network and worked as a legal analyst and contributor for shows like The O’Reilly Factor and Hannity. In 2011, she was hired as a co-host of The Five and three years later, she also signed on to co-host Outnumbered.
Despite signing a contract extension with Fox News in 2017, she abruptly left the network in July 2018. While she said that she voluntarily left her position, a 2018 Huffington Post report claimed that Guilfoyle was involved in workplace misconduct.
Although she denied sexual harassment allegations from a former assistant, a 2020 New Yorker exposé investigated the claims against Guilfoyle. At the time of the New Yorker piece, which alleged that Fox News paid the former assistant in an out-of-court settlement to prevent legal action, Guilfoyle once again denied the allegations.
Several years after leaving Fox News, in February 2023, Guilfoyle began hosting her own show on the video platform Rumble.
She was previously married to California Governor Gavin Newsom
While living in San Francisco, Guilfoyle became close with politician Gavin Newsom and the pair got married in December 2001. Two years later, when Newsom was elected mayor of the city, Guilfoyle became the first lady of San Francisco.
In January 2005, the couple announced their separation. Following their split, it was revealed that Newsom had an affair with the wife of his campaign manager — the governor later admitted to the infidelity and said he was “deeply sorry” for taking part in the relationship.
She shares a son with her ex-husband Eric Villency
Shortly after her split from Newsom in 2005, Guilfoyle met businessman and furniture heir Eric Villency. In May 2006, the couple said “I do" at a resort in Barbados, per The New York Times.
Then, on Oct. 4, 2006, the couple welcomed their son Ronan Anthony. In a birthday post dedicated to Ronan in 2023, Guilfoyle called him “the most beautiful blessing.”
“You are my life and my most enduring love. You have grown into such an accomplished & altruistic young man. We could not be more proud of you. Cannot wait to celebrate you — today and always,” Guilfoyle wrote on Instagram alongside photos of her son and Don Jr.
Guilfoyle and Villency separated in 2009 when Ronan was 3 years old.
She is a supporter of Donald Trump
For years, Guilfoyle has been a passionate supporter of Trump. According to The Mercury News, she originally met the former president at a charity event after she moved to New York in 2004.
“I think I have a very good relationship with the president. I think I enjoy a very straightforward and authentic, very genuine relationship, one that’s built on trust and integrity,” she told the outlet in 2017.
At one point, it was even rumored that she was being considered for the role of Trump's press secretary. While she didn’t join the communications team, she was allegedly considered more than once for the position.
“I’m a patriot, and it would be an honor to serve the country,” Guilfoyle told The Mercury News. “I think it’d be a fascinating job. It’s a challenging job, and you need someone really determined and focused, a great communicator in there with deep knowledge to be able to handle that position.”
Despite not becoming part of Trump’s administration, Guilfoyle has continued to be a vocal supporter of his campaigns. After leaving Fox News, she joined the super PAC America First Action as their vice chairwoman to help elect candidates who aligned with Trump's administration, per USA Today. She also joined Don Jr. on the campaign trail in 2020, including speaking during the opening night of the Republican National Convention.
Guilfoyle has continued to endorse Trump on his 2024 campaign trail, giving speeches and attending rallies.
She has a blended family with Don Jr.
Don Jr., who is a father of five – Kai, Donald III, Tristan, Spencer and Chloe – introduced his children to Guilfoyle’s son Ronan early on in their relationship.
Since then, Guilfoyle and Don Jr. have posted many photos of their children spending time together, and following their engagement, a source told PEOPLE that they were "very excited about blending their families."
She has talked about her relationship dynamic with Don Jr.
Guilfoyle has said that she and Don Jr. have a "traditional" relationship.
"I love taking care of Don, the way I saw my mother lovingly take care of my father," Guilfoyle told Metropolitan Palm Beach magazine in 2022. "I go out of my way to make sure he has everything he needs – making coffee in the morning, cooking our favorite meals, doing our families laundry, and caring for our home."
Her engagement to Don Jr. was announced in 2022
After over three years of dating, Guilfoyle and Don Jr. seemingly announced their engagement on New Year’s Day in 2022. In an Instagram post of her and Don Jr. in front of a Christmas tree, she displayed a diamond on her ring finger.
“Tonight was extra special celebrating @donaldjtrumpjr’s birthday,” she captioned the photo. “Don, you are strong, smart, courageous, funny and the love of my life. I can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives together. Love you.”
Just days later, the pair’s engagement was confirmed. Guilfoyle and Don Jr. reportedly got engaged on New Year’s Eve in 2020 and kept the news private for a year.
The former television personality later posted about their new relationship status in a Valentine’s Day Instagram post, calling Don Jr. her fiancé.
