Drag Race UK judge Alan Carr has lined up a brand new project — a new primetime BBC game show called Picture Slam.

Airing in a Saturday night slot, Picture Slam will see three teams of two contestants facing a series of pictures. Each picture will be worth cash for a prize pot, and the more pictures the contestants can correctly identify, the more money they could win.

However, for the big-money prizes, competitors will need to identify all of the pictures – if they can accomplish that, then they'll have completed a Picture Slam.

Each 45-minute episode will consist of four timed rounds – and the team which makes it through to the fourth and final round will compete for a prize pot of up to £10,000.

Carr, who also presents Interior Design Masters for the BBC, said: "Who doesn't love a good quiz? When I found out the BBC wanted little old me to present Picture Slam I jumped at the chance!

"I don't know if I would be any good at the quiz, but luckily I don't have to play it!"

Filming is set to take place at Pacific Quay in Glasgow, and applications remain open if you're interested in taking part.

Carr was recently rumoured to join the judging panel of another primetime show — Britain's Got Talent. However, the spot on the panel went to Bruno Tonioli.

Carr spoke about these rumours himself, saying he found it "weird" to watch the speculation unfold.

"I was staying at home – I'm doing a sitcom based on my life – and I was just watching this all unfold in the paper, it was very odd," Carr said.

"And then Bruno [was announced] and I thought, 'Oh good for him'. But it's so weird."
