EastEnders fans recognise guest star from Coronation Street

An EastEnders fan spotted a soap opera cameo in a recent new storyline involving Ben Mitchell as an old Coronation Street actor popped up in Walford.

In a new story, Ben seeks help and guidance from a therapist named Saira. Ben admits to Saira that he needs help but while Ben was having that revelation, a fan was having one of their own.

Several fans took to Twitter to share their excitement after they realised that the actress who plays Saira is none other than Krissi Bohn, who starred as Jenna in Coronation Street for two years and over 150 episodes.

One fan wrote "It's Jenna from Corrie" while another proclaimed "luv my Jenna." Another fan wrote: "I thought she looked familiar." And another fan wrote: "Woohoo! Is that @KrissiBohn (who played Lloyd's daughter, Jenna Kamara on Corrie)! Looking good, Sis!"

Bohn herself took to Twitter to share her gratitude for being part of the EastEnders team. She wrote: "What a pleasure it was to be a small cog in this massive machine. Thanks for having me @lemfilm and thank you @MaxBowden and @JessieWallaceUK for being so welcoming. You’re all doing incredible work. #EastEnders."

In Coronation Street, Bohn was best known for her character's storyline involving Sophie Webster, which blossomed into a romance. Bohn has also starred in other TV shows including Doctors, Vera and Years and Years.

Bohn is part of a new storyline for Ben in which he continues to struggle through his recent traumas. Recently, he has tried to make a breakthrough, however, and his work with Bohn's therapist Saira is a key part of that turning point.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
