Efforts paying off to help fire department

The amount of new equipment being supplied to Neebing's municipal fire department keeps piling up thanks to ongoing fundraising efforts.
The Neebing Fire/Rescue Association said this week it has raised $45,000 for the department over the last two years.
Most recently, the association earmarked $11,500 worth of additional equipment for a rescue vehicle and $9,000 in training equipment for an emergency responder program, an association bulletin said.
It is also looking to raise $20,000-$25,000 to pay for a battery-powered "spreader" device that can assist firefighters when they are removing people from crashed vehicles.
The association depends on 50-50 draws and firewood raffles. More information is available online at neebingfirerescueassociation.com.
