Singer, band leader identified as man killed in fatal car crash on Texas 183 in Bedford

Most eastbound lanes of Texas 183 were closed in Bedford early Monday morning because of a fatal crash, according to police.

At least one man died in the accident. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified him as Heber Hernandez, 24, who died at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth shortly before 5 a.m.

According to social media posts, Hernandez was the main vocalist for the band Petroleros Del Bravo, based in Tyler.

Further details about the accident were not immediately available.

In a social media post about 5 a.m., police said lane closures would last through morning rush hour traffic and were expected to cause major traffic delays.

Only one eastbound lane was open between the Central Drive and Industrial Boulevard exits due to the accident.
