'God Bless the USA' Plays in Capitol Rotunda Ahead of Inauguration
US government officials filled the Rotunda room of the US Capitol building ahead of US President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration on Monday, January 20, footage shows.
Footage filmed and posted to X by Nebraska Representative Mike Flood shows lawmakers and guests gathered inside the Rotunda room of the US Capitol building on Monday. Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA,” a favorite at Trump’s rallies, can be heard playing in the room.
The ceremony was moved indoors due to freezing temperatures in Washington on Monday. Some spectators were diverted to Capitol One Arena, where the parade would take place and a broadcast of the ceremony would be available, but the venue would only be able to accommodate around 20,000 of the 200,000 expected, according to reports.
