On June 18, the “Mirrors” singer, 43, was in police custody in the village of Sag Harbor, where the American Hotel is located. Sag Harbor is part of the vacation destination area of the Hamptons, New York.
A source told PEOPLE that Timberlake was leaving the popular hotel and restaurant in Sag Harbor when he was pulled over by police after midnight on Tuesday.
The general manager at The American Hotel also tells PEOPLE that Timberlake came in for drinks around 11:15 p.m. but did not dine there. "Kitchen closes at 10:15 p.m.," the manager said.

The menu boasts an extensive wine list, along with other alcoholic beverages, and a stacked seafood lineup, including a Norwegian salmon filet and fresh local flounder.
With old-school bartenders and a charming atmosphere, the American Hotel has hosted other A-list guests before, including Billy Joel. Joel is a regular there and even stopped by the restaurant on June 18 after news broke of Timberlake's arrest.

"The place itself is a Hamptons institution. It’s located in the center of Main Street and is busy year round always with a mix of locals and affluent patrons," a local source tells PEOPLE. "It’s not much of a party scene, it’s more elevated."

Inside the American Hotel in Sag Harbor, N.Y.Nautical, traditional style runs throughout three dining areas: a main dining room, a private room “favored by regular clients” and a glass-covered atrium.
The Sag Harbor Police Department released a statement after Timberlake's arrest, detailing how he "was observed operating a 2025 BMW southbound on Madison Street, failing to stop at a duly posted stop sign and failing to maintain his lane of travel." After being stopped, "it was determined that Mr. Timberlake was operating his vehicle in an intoxicated condition," the statement continued.
He was "held overnight for morning arraignment" on June 18 and released shortly after, according to police. Timberlake is next due in court July 26.
A representative for Timberlake did not immediately return PEOPLE's request for comment.
