A Ohio resident recently captured the priceless moment when her two goats met then four-week-old goslings who had joined the family, with the goats’ reactions likened to teenagers trying to “get the courage to talk to girls.”Oberlin-based farmer Tammy Tunison published on June 18 the first “meet and greet” between her goats, Junior and Alex, and the Sebastopol goslings. In the hilarious footage, Alex the goat can ben seen intensely staring at the fluffy birds with what looks like fear and fascination. Though seemingly curious about the goslings, the bovid is keeping a safe distance, until his “brother” Junior head-butts him closer.“I decided it was time for Alex and Junior to meet the babies without a protective barrier between them,” Tunison told Storyful. “Alex and Junior were so afraid of [them] they ran and hid behind their beds when the goslings started to approach them.”Tunison explained that she had had the goslings live within the goats’ enclosure since they were hatched, with the purpose of them “[getting] to know each other before they share a yard together.”Tammy Tunison regularly films humorous videos of her goats and other pets, posting them to her Hobby Farm Facebook account. Soft corals are a beautiful and essential part of a healthy reef. They are crucial to the ecosystem because they support life and supply food to an endless number of marine animals. This xenia coral is unique among the corals because it has hand-like appendages that it uses to pulse and grope for plankton and baby brine shrimp on which they feed. But xenia coral is also unique because it has a symbiotic relationship with an algae that grows within it. This algae relies on the coral for structure and for protection and the coral benefits from the algae's ability to transform light into energy through photosynthesis. Xenia coral is mesmerizing as it moves rhythmically to draw food from the ocean.
