Howie Mandel is opening up about the moment he saw his wife Terry Mandel lying in a pool of blood with her skull exposed after a scary fall.

During the June 17 episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, the America’s Got Talent judge, 68, explained to hosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos how his wife fell and ended up in the hospital during their trip to Las Vegas in February.

"We partied. It was too much. She was tipsy. I did not know that, and in the middle of the night she got up and, I don't know where she was headed, but she headed into the wall. She fell and hit the wainscoting," he recalled. "She hit that as she went down. She slipped, went down, hit that on her eye, fell on the floor, and broke her cheek."

Mandel then shared a graphic image of his wife, showing a two-inch cut on her forehead and a dark purple bruise around her eye. He admitted that he started panicking seeing all the blood coming from her head.

“Blood is pooling out and I freaked out. I picked her up, I put her on the bed. There’s blood everywhere,” he explained. "I saw her head, and you could actually see her skull. It opened up. I freaked.”

Mandel said he called hotel staff and instead of calling 911, they sent 10 security guards to his room to check out the situation. He joked that when security arrived and saw all the blood, it didn’t look good for him.

“It’s a crime scene!” Consuelos teased.

"If someone was ever beat up in that room, I promise it would be me. I am the most annoying person in the world," Mandel joked. "My wife is a saint."

Terry was ultimately brought to the hospital and Mandel said she’s since made a full recovery.

"She is absolutely perfect. There's not a scar. She's beautiful," he said, showing a recent photo of the couple with her face healed.

"People said, 'What happened?' and she said, 'Vegas,'" Mandel quipped.
