An innovative parking lot built at Twin Lakes

Construction is complete at Twin Lakes parking lot in the County of Wetaskiwin.

The accessibility of tourists will be addressed, and visitors’ experience will be enhanced through the project, the county said in a media release.

The County partnered with a construction company for the project – who deployed Tough Cell tech in building the parking lot, the county said.

"Our partnership with Paradox Access Solutions represents a strategic move towards innovative and sustainable infrastructure solutions," said Reeve Josh Bishop.

"The new parking lot at Twin Lakes Campground will significantly improve access for both residents and visitors, ensuring a safer and more enjoyable experience at one of our most popular sites."

The technology allows for using recycled and locally sourced materials, reducing the need for transported aggregate and expediting installation processes.

The county added that the next steps include developing a trail plan at Twin Lakes to enhance the area's recreational opportunities further.
