Iwan Edwards: A life in choral music

Beloved Montreal choral master Iwan Edwards conducts the CBC/McGill Youth Choir Gala this Sunday at Pollack Hall.

It will be one of the last concerts conducted by Edwards.

Since coming from his native Wales to Montreal in 1965 he's taught music at Lachine High School, founded many choirs including the EMSB Chorale, the F.A.C.E. Choir, the Concerto Della Donna and the Choeur des enfants de Montréal.

More than 200 choir singers touched by his love of text, sense of humour and generosity will pay tribute to Edwards at the Sunday concert.

His final concert is Nov. 30 with the Concerto Della Donna at St. George's Anglican Church.
