Jana Kramer Plans to Walk Down the Aisle Solo: ‘This Will Be the Last Walk I Do Alone’

The country singer revealed her wedding plans with fiancé Allan Russell in the latest episode of her podcast on July 8

Jana Kramer is taking a unique approach to wedding traditions!

The country music star, 40, revealed on the latest episode of her Whine Down podcast that she plans to walk down the aisle alone in her upcoming wedding to Allan Russell.

Kramer shared on the podcast that when asked by her soon-to-be husband if her father would be joining her down the aisle, she "debated it, but I said no.”

Russell admitted that he didn’t understand her decision to do it solo at first. “[I] questioned it because I didn't agree with it,” he said. “I questioned it because I just wasn't aware that you were gonna do it on your own.”

Explaining the reason for her decision, Kramer said she told Russell, “ ‘It's a walk that I need to take by myself’ … I was like, ‘It's taken me a long time to get here, and I know that this will be the last walk I do alone.’ ”

“And I'm walking to you. It just ... that sentiment means something to me. Very symbolic. So powerful,” she added.

Russell shared that the special moment of Kramer walking down the aisle is also what he is most excited about on their big day. “For me — it's not cliche, it's just how I feel — but just watching her walking towards me is the piece I'm looking forward to the most,” he said.

Kramer and Scotsman went public with her relationship in January 2023. The couple got engaged six months later and welcomed their first child, a son named Roman James, in November 2023.

The pair’s romance comes after Kramer split from her ex Ian Schinelli in April 2022. She was also previously married to Mike Caussin from 2015 to 2021, and the pair shares two children: daughter Jolie, 7, and son Jace, 4.

Kramer hinted at her upcoming nuptials to Russell in an Instagram post earlier this week as she shared photos of her and the family jetting to Russell’s home country of Scotland.

“Let the next chapter in this adventure begin …,” the mom of three wrote in the caption alongside a carousel of snaps of her and the children making their way overseas.

Among the photos shared were shots of Kramer with her two eldest kids posing in the doorway of Bothwell Castle in Scotland. Kramer, Russell and the kids were also snapped at the airport on their travels.

On Monday, July 8, Kramer posted more photos of her and Russell embracing in front of the castle as she wrote, 'God blessed the broken road that led me straight to you … yes he did."
