Jenelle Evans is explaining her reasoning behind a tough decision.

In a video shared to her Instagram on Thursday, April 25, the 16 and Pregnant alum, 32, shared that she has pulled her kids out of school and will be homeschooling them until the summer.

Evans is mom to son Jace Vahn, 14, whom she shares with ex Andrew Lewis, son Kaiser Orion, 9, whom she shares with ex Nathan Griffith, and daughter Ensley Jolie, 7, whom she shares with estranged husband David Eason.

"Actually, life update. So basically, I have pulled my kids out of school for the rest of the school year and I’m going to be home-schooling them. Why? Because I found out their school is not safe.  Not going to go into detail about that," Evans says in the video.

The mom of three went on to explain she's been taking her kids on field trips every day, including to the aquarium and the Children's Museum, where she says she will teach them "about science, gravity, waterfalls, tornados, weather."

"I just want to keep them safe. I want to keep them at home. I want to keep my eye on them and I think that’s just what’s best for them right now," Evans adds.

"Life has been way too stressful for us and I feel like they need a break, so we’re going to do homeschooling. It’s going to be fun."

The rest of the video included scenes from the Children's Museum, where her kids got to enjoy hands-on exhibits throughout the space. At the end of the day, the family returns home, where Evans declares the day a success.

"I personally learn better hands-on. I don’t know about you guys, but yeah. It was great," she says.

In the comments, fans had mixed reactions to Evans pulling her kids from school. "Those are field trips not schooling, there [sic] gonna fall behind😞," one commenter wrote.

"They are homeschooling for 1 month then their summer starts. They will be just fine 😂," Evans wrote back.

"As a former homeschool mom, I am very proud of you. So many in your comments have a distorted idea of education," another wrote, prompting Evans to respond and thank her.
