Jeremy Clarkson enrages fans by charging £200 for a pie at his Cotswolds farm shop

Jeremy Clarkson has left fans enraged after charging £200 for a pie at his farm shop in the Cotswolds.

The former Top Gear presenter, 64, is selling the pricey made to order “extra extra large” pie at his Diddly Squat Farm Shop, which is next to his pub, The Farmer’s Dog.

A reviewer with the username The Skeptics Take shared a video from his visit to the Oxfordshire shop on Instagram.

He claimed: “You pay £2 to park in a muddy field, and choose from the array of overpriced souvenirs that will end up in your bin. Like this bl**** candle, for £22.”

He then filmed a stack of large pies on a counter top, ranging from large costing £46.15 to extra extra large priced at £199.99.

“Enough pie to throw at your neighbour for £200,” the creator said in the voiceover.

He also showed a “litre of non-organic milk for £6.10, including the bottle,” displayed at the shop.

Fans were outraged over the prices, with one writing: “Is it seriously £200 for a pie?!”

Another added: “I am wondering how they can justify prices like that. Can’t imagine there being any takers,” and a third posted: “Overpriced rubbish!”

Others defended the Clarkson’s Farm presenter, penning: “I’ve been to the shop several times and love it! Yes it’s expensive but so are so many other things. It’s fun, live a little!”

Another customer commented: “Couple of us took a ride up from Bristol, it’s a great route through the Cotswolds and the pub itself did great food (had the Longview burger) on a summer’s day with the views the garden have it would be a great place to chill with a few beers.”

Someone else wrote: “Haters are going to hate. Cheer up, no one is asking you to go and whinge. Go to Tesco.”

Clarkson opened The Farmer’s Dog in August 2024 and has revealed a variety of famous faces have visited the venue, including Ellen DeGeneres.

The comedian, 66, was spotted enjoying a The Corrs show at the pub with her wife, Portia de Rossi, 51, in November.

Clarkson praised the comedian, saying she was “very friendly” and “lovely” to the staff.

“She lives in the village where our pub is. Absolutely I welcome them all,” the broadcaster told The Mirror.

“Everyone said she has been cancelled but she seemed nice when she came to the pub, the staff said she was very friendly and lovely. I am not going to believe what I read online. She seemed lovely.”

Clarkson admitted in December that the pub “is a total disaster” due to theft, high parking charges and toilet mishaps.

While there are plenty of customers, the broadcaster said that turning a profit is “nigh-on impossible”.

He wrote in The Times that he is forced to spend £27,000 a month on parking and traffic marshals “to keep the council off our back”.

Clarkson also complained about customers stealing from the pub. On one Sunday 104 pint glasses had gone missing, driving up costs at the pub.
