Kate Middleton and Prince William are experimenting with their social media strategy.

On Sunday, the Prince and Princess of Wales’ team posted a new feature on X to look back at the couple’s royal engagements in September. Prince William and Princess Kate, both 41, returned to work last month following a summer break from late July to August and stepped out again after Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5, returned to the classroom at the Lambrook School.

“Welcome to the September Rewind with The Prince and Princess of Wales,” Kensington Royal's thread began with a pointed finger emoji and rolled to repost recaps from recent outings.

“Starting the month with @HomewardsUK. Exploring how local businesses can help end homelessness in Bournemouth with @StevenBartlett, @Pret and @afcbournemouth,” the first message read, reposting the look back at Prince William’s Sept. 7 visit to a Pret café in Bournemouth, England for his Homewards campaign. The new initiative, which kicked off in June, will provide $3.8 million to six different locations as seed money for an ambitious plan to make homelessness "rare, brief and unrepeated” in a five-year plan.

The next post, titled “Remembering Her Late Majesty The Queen,” recounted William and Kate’s visit to Wales on Sept. 8. The royals traveled to Wales on the first anniversary of Queen Elizabeth’s death for a service at St Davids Cathedral honoring the late monarch. The stop in Wales was a poignant reminder that the couple were made Prince and Princess of Wales by King Charles on Sept. 9 last year, just one day after his accession. The move recognized William and Kate's seniority in the royal family and signaled their critical roles ahead.

“Charles is leading the way for them already, and [William and Kate] are both involved in decision-making behind the scenes. They are ready and willing to do the job— and Kate is very much a part of that,” a friend of the princess previously told PEOPLE.

The next thread was a video about their second stop of the day — Câr-Y-Môr Seaweed Farm, the first "regenerative ocean farm" in Wales and a key partner of Notpla, the sustainable packaging start-up and winner of the 2022 Earthshot Prize for "Build a Waste-Free World.”

The post then rolled to the Prince and Princess of Wales “Talking all things rugby...” on a special episode of Mike Tindall’s podcast The Good, The Bad & The Rugby alongside Princess Anne on Sept. 9. Mike is married to Princess Anne’s daughter Zara, and the trio joined the retired Team England rugby star and his co-hosts for a special chat timed to the start of the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France. In a memorable line, Princess Kate denied she was competitive, and Mike jokingly fired back that "I've seen her play beer pong!"

The inaugural September Rewind then shared shots of Kate and William “catching a couple of #RWC2023 games” that weekend, posting photos of Kate meeting Team England players following the Rugby World Cup Group Stage match against Argentina on Sept. 9, and William connecting with members of the Welsh rugby team the next day.

The diverging plans were no surprise, as the Prince and Princess of Wales share a friendly rugby rivalry! William is the longstanding Patron of the Welsh Rugby Union, while Kate is patron of the Rugby Football Union and Rugby Football League, which govern the game in England. Queen Elizabeth tapped her for the rugby roles in February 2022, redistributing positions previously held by Prince Harry, who stepped back from his working royal role with his wife Meghan Markle in 2020.

William and Kate's team then reshared a video on the Duchy of Cornwall’s new Mental Health Strategy in partnership with We Are Farming Minds. The video coincided with the couple’s Sept. 14 visit to the charity in Hereford, which works to prevent suicide in the local, rural community and raise awareness around the importance of mental health. William inherited the Duchy of Cornwall from his father King Charles upon Queen Elizabeth’s death last year and the lucrative Duchy that comes with it. The estate of farmland, property and commercial businesses is worth around $1.3 billion.

The rewind rolled to highlights from William’s “busy few days in New York” from his two-day U.S. visit, including the announcement of the 15 finalists in the running for the 2023 Earthshot Prize. The cohort was announced at the second annual Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit in New York City on Sept. 19, and five finalists — who will be revealed at the 2023 Earthshot Prize Awads Ceremony in Singapore on Nov. 7 — will receive $1.2 million and support to scale their environmental solutions to size.

The September Rewind closed with videos on the Billion Oyster Project, a nonprofit working to restore oyster reefs to New York Harbor, which William visited on Sept. 18, and a behind-the-scenes glimpse of Kate’s trip to the Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton the same day. The stop doubled as her debut as the Commodore-in-Chief of the Fleet Air Arm; over the summer, King Charles appointed his daughter-in-law to the position in a royal role reshuffled from Prince Andrew, who held the position until 2022.

The Prince and Princess of Wales’ team closed the first-ever September Rewind by sending gratitude to all the charities and organizations they stepped out to support last month.

“Thank you to everyone involved,” the post closed.

The update comes after it was confirmed Princess Kate will not join her husband at the upcoming Earthshot Prize Awards Ceremony in Singapore on Nov. 7. Instead, she will stay home to look after their three children during an important week. PEOPLE understands that Prince George has school exams that week, and his mother will be at home in Windsor to support him.

The update comes after Prince William officially confirmed he would travel to Singapore for the special event during the Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit in Manhattan on Sept. 19.

Princess Kate will break tradition when she misses the third annual awards ceremony, which she has attended for the last two years. Prince William launched the Earthshot Prize in 2020 to promote impactful approaches to the world's most pressing environmental challenges, with plans to award the prizes until 2030.
