College basketball final: Kentucky Wildcats 81, Penn Quakers 66

In the city of the “Brotherly Shove,” John Calipari and his Kentucky Wildcats face the Penn Quakers in a college basketball game at the Wells Fargo Center. Tipoff is scheduled for noon. ESPN2 has the television coverage.

Kentucky was upset 80-73 by UNC Wilmington at Rupp Arena last Saturday. Ranked No. 16 in the latest AP Top 25, the Wildcats are 6-2. The trip to Philly is a homecoming of sorts for UK freshmen Justin Edwards, who is from Philadelphia, and D.J. Wagner and Aaron Bradshaw, who are both from nearby Camden, New Jersey.

Penn enters the game 6-4. Three of the Quakers’ losses have come in overtime — 83-80 at Maryland-Eastern Shore; 84-79 vs. Belmont and 93-92 vs. LaSalle. Penn beat Villanova 76-72 back on Nov. 13.
