Location for Wilkie, Sask., advance poll changed due to fire

A fire at the community centre in Wilkie, Sask., led to a change in location for the advance poll for some voters in the Battlefords-Lloydminster riding.

An official from Elections Canada said the new poll location is the town hall in Wilkie.

The official said there were no injuries due to the fire and the ballot box is safe.

Advance voting is available at the new location on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, from 12 noon until 8 p.m. CST each day.

Elections Canada has an online tool that provides information on where people can vote, for advance polls and on voting day (which is Oct. 19).
