The Love Is Blind couple, who met and got married on season 3 of the Netflix hit, are celebrating their three-year anniversary on July 2.

It's been a busy year of marriage for the duo — who announced they finally moved in together in June 2023 — just ahead of their second wedding anniversary. Now with another year of marriage under their belt, as well as one official year of cohabiting, Matt, 30, and Colleen, 28, tell PEOPLE they couldn't be happier together.

"This last year we moved in together and it’s been a smooth transition," the couple tells PEOPLE in a joint statement via email. "Living together we have progressed so much in our relationship, we get to truly see every bit of one another."

"It has changed how we communicate and respond and settle in to our routines," they continue. "Matt is the chef and Colleen is the decorator. Thrilled to say that the future is bright for the Boltons!"

Matt and Colleen first met in the season 3 pods on Love Is Blind. They weathered their fair share of challenges on their road to the altar, before saying "I do" to each other in the finale. Today, the Boltons, as well as costars Alexa and Brennon Lemieux, are the only couples that got married — and have stayed together — from season 3.

Shortly after their season premiered, Matt opened up to PEOPLE about the challenges that they faced on the show and what led him to say "I do" to Colleen in the finale.

"Obviously there were a lot of conversations that you guys didn't see," he said in November 2022. "Going through those, I'm glad that we did go through those little stir-ups though because it allowed us to learn how we handle certain things."

“We saw so much potential, and it was just on the day of, we still didn't know. But when I saw her walking down the aisle, I was like, 'Listen, we've got too much potential,” he continued. “‘This is such a great moment. We are meant for each other.' So we just had to do it. Can't pass it up."

After tying the knot, Matt and Colleen faced some breakup speculation when fans questioned why they weren't living together. However, on Deepti Vempati and Natalie Lee's podcast, Out of the Pods in 2023, Colleen put the rumors to rest as she revealed the couple “practically live together already” with how much time Matt spent at her place, and they wanted to know what their relationship would look like in the real world before moving into a shared home.

"To kind of adapt to now living with someone, it takes a while," she explained. "It takes a second, and both of us didn't want to rush changing that, all of a sudden expediting that for other people."

Today, Matt and Colleen tell PEOPLE of moving in together: "It was stressful having to move from our previous place with quick notice."

"But with that said, we found a charming house to make our new home," they continue. "It’s been so fun having a house because we have more room to live in, a backyard, and a cute porch to add too. Matt is really excited to dive into his landscape era and Colleen to watch it all."

"The first night we were able to truly have a dance party while we cooked dinner in our spacious kitchen. We are excited to share more of our new space," they add.

Since their anniversary falls just a few days short of 4th of July, the Boltons say they have various plans to celebrate — and look forward to what the future holds.

"We have a really busy summer and it’s always been tough to plan our anniversary on Fourth of July weekend," they explain. "We have a a group getting together for the holiday that we will celebrate our anniversary with. We plan on going to a nice dinner on the second - Italian of course!"
