Love Island star Dani Dyer has revealed that time away from her boyfriend Jarrod Bowen is "tough".

The reality star took to her Instagram Story on Monday (July 8) to candidly speak about missing her partner while he competes in the Euros as part of England's 26-man squad.

"It has been tough," she wrote. "I'm a needy girlfriend currently and looking forward to having him back and giving him the kids."

Dani welcomed twins Summer and Star with the West Ham player last year. She is also mother to three-year-old Santiago from a previous relationship.

After travelling back and forth with the children to see Jarrod in Germany, Dani explained that she's now "exhausted".

"But it's all worth it & I've been flying backwards and forwards. Sometimes I've taken kids & others just gone on my own," she added.

"It is hard travelling with little ones, it's all the stuff you need and they didn't nap once when travelling (they are terrible at napping outdoors) but other than that it's been okay with them and they got to see Jarrod which was lovely."

Dani, who won Love Island in 2018 alongside ex-boyfriend Jack Fincham, recently revealed whether she'd let her children watch her series of the show one day.

"I hope I come across well enough when they watch it back to be honest, but it was a really positive time for me so if they want to watch it then by all means they can," she said on BBC Breakfast.

The reality star has also opened up about life as a mother of three, giving fans an insight into her new family dynamic following the arrival of her twin daughters.

"It's been amazing watching Santi be a big brother, he has melted my heart in ways I couldn't imagine and he just feels like such a big boy all of a sudden," she wrote in an Instagram post.

"My heart feels so so full and so excited for our journey together as a family of 5."

Love Island airs on ITV2 and streams on ITVX.
