It’s hard to believe, but it’s been almost 15 years since the world was introduced to the indelible cinematic classic Mean Girls in 2004. Now, the film’s zingy one-liners will be delivered in lyrical form with today’s Broadway premiere of Mean Girls, the musical.

The return of the fab four (though did they ever really leave us?) brings with it a wardrobe bearing all the hallmarks of the early aughts. Onstage, we can look forward to the unnecessary layering of tank tops, straps as thin as angel-hair pasta, and lip gloss applied in glops. Once upon a time, the film bolstered these existing fashion trends; dare we suggest the musical will revive them? The timing does feel right. Perhaps Wednesday pink was just the predecessor of millennial pink; scripted tees are having a moment. Here’s hoping for a Mean Girls fashion comeback—or as they say in the theater world, an encore!

Above, Vogue’s shopping guide for the film’s most fetching trends.
