Met Gala 2024 Guest List: These Are the Celebs Who Have Confirmed They’re Going

As the Met Gala 2024 draws ever nearer, designers and celebrities are finalizing their plans, and stressed out Vogue staffers are finalizing the seating arrangements. Our hearts go out to them.

The dress code this year is The Garden of Time, which corresponds to the current Costume Institute exhibit “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.” A ticket to the event is famously hard to snag—it’s invite only, and you might have to pony up $50,000 if you don’t have a brand sponsoring you—so the guest list is always as interesting as the fashions. Who will make the cut this year?

Here’s everyone we know will be at the Met Gala for sure, a few guesses, and what we’ve heard about who’s staying home.

The co-chairs

Zendaya

As a cochair of the event and by far the style star of the year so far (her Challengers press tour! we die), Zendaya will surely be a highlight. In fact, her Met Gala looks have been integral to her ascension to star status; remember the light-up Cinderella gown? The question of whether her boyfriend and Spider-Man costar Tom Holland will accompany her remains to be answered.

Jennifer Lopez

Lopez is a cochair as well and has attended many a gala in the past. In 2023 she walked the carpet solo, but since she’s an honoree this year, maybe her husband, Ben Affleck, will grace us with his presence?

Chris Hemsworth

The Aussie hunk is a cochair, and we can’t imagine his wife, Elsa Pataky, would miss this opportunity.

Bad Bunny

Do we think him being cochair will scare his ex Kendall Jenner away? No, we do not.

Anna Wintour

Obviously.

The Met Gala red carpet hosts

This year's Met Gala hosts are an eclectic group: actor Gwendoline Christie, model Ashley Graham, and TV star LaLa Anthony. The trio will be hosting the red carpet livestream which will air on Vogue as well as Glamour beginning at 6 p.m. ET.

Confirmed Met Gala guests!

Rihanna

She says she’ll keep it low-key this year. She says. “I’m coming in as an extra this year,” the singer told E! News. “I’m coming for dinner.” Describing her outfit as “really, like, chill,” she declined to address whether her partner, A$AP Rocky, would be with her, but odds are yes.

Gigi Hadid

Gigi Hadid confirmed her attendance at the Met Gala by sharing a photograph to her Instagram Story of a Thom Browne tag just hours before the event.

Kendall Jenner

Kendall Jenner also confirmed her Met Gala RSVP on her Instagram Story, sharing a behind-the-scenes photo in which she tagged The Row.

Likely place for them to be

We can’t say for sure, but based on past years, we wouldn’t be surprised to see the other KarJenners—Kris, Kylie, Kourtney (with Travis), Khloé, and Kim, who just changed her hair, possibly for the event. And since Timothée Chalamet was already on our short list…will this be the red-carpet debut of Kylothee? Or Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco?

Beyoncé is always a maybe, and since Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are reportedly skipping, there probably won’t be any “thanK you aImee” drama. We would also put money on Anne Hathaway, Kaia Gerber, Billie Eilish, and Dua Lipa (please bring Callum Turner!) making an appearance.

On May 5, the evening before the Met Gala, several celebrities attended pre–Met Gala events, or were were photographed arriving in New York City. Those stars include Pamela Anderson, Doja Cat, Sienna Miller, and Challengers stars Mike Faist and Josh O’Connor. The latter two actors would be an obvious invite, seeing as their film has been the talk of the town since it hit theaters last month. With Zendaya acting as cochair, it’s the perfect finale to a stunning press tour.

Demi Moore, Kaia Gerber, Sydney Sweeney, and Karlie Kloss have also been papped in NYC over the last 48 hours, as has last year’s Vogue red-carpet host Emma Chamberlain, Troye Sivan, and Eiza Gonzalez.

Meanwhile, Bella Hadid has also been doing the rounds to promote her new fragrance collection, Orebella. She was last photographed in the city on Saturday, May 4. Hadid missed last year’s Gala due to health issues, but she’s since recovered and returned to the public eye with a twinkle in her eye and a cowboy boyfriend on her arm. Speaking of—her new beau, Adan Banuelos, is also in New York City…could this be their red-carpet debut?

Wishful thinking

We’re dreaming of seeing Greta Gerwig there. Also Julia Fox, please, I just wanna see what happens. Same with Jojo Siwa. I could imagine Coco Gauff making her Met Gala debut this year too.

Possible skips

Olivia Rodrigo technically doesn’t have a concert that night and could go, but she’d have to jet back and forth from the UK, so maybe not. Blake Lively (and by extension, Ryan Reynolds) is perhaps the only Met Gala regular whose looks we look forward to as much as Rihanna’s, but she skipped last year because she’d just had her fourth kid, and we wouldn’t blame her a bit if she wanted to stay home with her children again. We’re confident she will make her grand return in due time. After her Barbie press tour whirlwind, Margot Robbie is taking a well-deserved break from the spotlight, so we can see her declining as well. We don’t know what’s going on with Hailey and Justin Bieber, but of course we’d be down to see them!
