The couple shared the news in an Instagram post on Sunday
Oklahoma City Thunder basketball star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will soon have a new title to his name!
In an Instagram post on Sunday, the Canadian athlete, 25, revealed that he and his girlfriend Hailey Summers are expecting their first child together.
The post contained a sweet photo of the NBA star smiling from ear to ear as he closed his eyes and held on to Summers' baby bump. The mother-to-be proudly displayed her growing belly while smiling at the camera and dressed in a long-sleeved crop top and black pants.
While the announcement didn't go into details about the happy news, Gilgeous-Alexander wrote in the caption, "2024…🩶♾️."
Fellow basketball player Chet Holmgren commented, "2 2.0 🔜." Athlete Nerlens Noel wrote, "Yessa Shai Dai!🔥💯." According to ClutchPoints, the expecting parents have been together for at least six years. Like Gilgeous-Alexander, Summers is also a talented athlete.
One of her few Instagram posts shows her reflecting on her time as part of the University of Albany's soccer team.
"5 years later.. thank you soccer, for everything, but most importantly, thank you for bringing me the best of friends I could ask for ❤️ #2 out," her 2021 post caption read.
Besides playing basketball, Gilgeous-Alexander has also been busy modeling Kim Kardashian's brand SKIMS. He and Brazilian soccer player Neymar Jr and San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa were tapped to model the brand's menswear in its launch announcement in October.

In a recent chat with Kardashian, 43, for Interview magazine, Gilgeous-Alexander opened up about his friends and family's role in helping him with his mental health.
"A lot of it I do with friends and family, just because they give me a getaway from the spotlight, the NBA life," he said. "A lot of them are back home and live everyday lives, so I get to step away from all the craziness that this life brings when I'm with them."
