Ont. grandma has 2 goals in mind for spending her $100K lotto jackpot
Mary Divok credits her lucky number after helping her win in Instant Plinko.
A recent Hamilton, Ont., lottery winner is looking to follow up on two especially important goals, after winning a $100,000 prize through a $5 Instant Plinko game.
Mary Divok is a mother and grandmother who has been playing since “the lottery started.” Once she found out she had won the $100,000 prize, she was immediately ecstatic, knowing she was going to share it with “her kids and grandkids,” to go along with a personal upgrade for her day-to-day.
“I will also purchase a brand-new wheelchair and help my granddaughter with her university,” said Divok, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her winnings.
Although Divok’s favourite game is Bingo, she has been purchasing Instant Plinko tickets weekly in hopes of one day winning big. She was surprised to see that she had matched her lucky number, which led to her win.
“I matched the number 38, which is my lucky number! I thought I won $10,000 and I was in disbelief,” noted Divok.
“When my son and I went to the store to validate it and I saw $100,000 on the screen, I immediately thought of all the things I could do for my kids. I was flabbergasted!”
Instant Plinko cards cost $5 and the game gives you three potential ways to play: scratch, watch or drop. The objective of the game is to scratch the Instant Plinko ticket for a chance to win an instant prize, or the chance to advance to a Watch ‘N Win style game on the lottery terminal screen.
Scratch: Reveal matching numbers on your Instant Plinko ticket to win $5 to $100,000 or reveal the word “chip” to see the Plinko chip drop at retail.
Watch: If the prize won is “chip,” watch the chip drop on the animated screen in-store and win a guaranteed $10 to $10,000 or “Plinko”.
Drop: Land on “Plinko” in-store and you’ll get to drop a real chip on a real Plinko board for a guaranteed prize from $100,000 to $500,000.
