Ontario’s nice weather will crash back to reality today
The lovely spell of unseasonable warmth that graced the air over Ontario this week will come to an unfortunate end on Friday as a cold front sweeps more typical November weather back into the province.
A taste of rain will wash over Ontario on Friday, leaving behind a more November-appropriate air mass in its wake.

Ontario’s stretch of warmth peaked on Thursday as daytime highs climbed well into the teens throughout southern portions of the province. Windsor rose to a balmy 16°C by late Thursday afternoon, a high more common of early October than the middle of November.
That’s all set to change, though, as a cold front steadily makes its way across the Great Lakes to end the week.
We’ll see a bout of rain sweep into Ontario from west to east, beginning early Friday morning and wrapping up by the late afternoon hours.
It won’t be a noteworthy rainfall by any means—just enough to be annoying without causing much of a fuss. We’ll end the day with widespread totals of 5-10 mm in the gauges across much of southern Ontario.

Conditions will cool down in a hurry behind the front as temperatures dip back where they should be this time of year. Single-digit highs are in the forecast this weekend, so anyone heading out to enjoy the Santa parades should plan to sport extra layers.
A clipper will track across the region Saturday night into Sunday, bringing showers of rain and snow to the region. Blustery and chilly conditions behind the clipper could spark a brief round of lake-effect snow southeast of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay.
Forecasters expect changeable weather next week, with mild mid-week temperatures bookended by chillier conditions at the start and finish of the week. A chance for colder temperatures and maybe even some wintry weather could arrive for the final week of the month, but milder conditions are likely to start December.
