What’s open, closed on Labour Day in Winnipeg

Libraries will be closed but spray pads and wading pools will be open on Monday.

The City of Winnipeg is closing all of its civic offices for Labour Day but a number of services are still available.

Recycling and garbage collection is on, and the Brady Road Landfill will be open from 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Winnipeg Transit is operating on a holiday (Sunday) schedule.

All leisure centres, indoor swimming pools and libraries are closed.

Weather permitting, four outdoor pools will be open, including Kildonan Park, Fort Garry Lions, Transcona Kinsmen and Freight House.

Wading pools and spray pads are also open, weather permitting.

Animal Services is closed.

Labour Day also marks a shift in operating hours for the city’s libraries. On Monday, summer hours end and regular hours begin.

Cemeteries are open from dawn until dusk but cemetery offices will be closed.

Finally, if you want to take in a round or two of golf, Harbour View, Crescent Drive, John Blumberg, Kildonan Park and Windsor Park Golf Course will be open all day.

Labour Day also marks the start of new speed limits in Winnipeg school zones.

Shopping

St. Vital Centre is closed for Labour Day, as is Polo Park, Grant Park Shopping Centre and Kildonan Place.

All of Manitoba's liquor marts will also be closed.

And as for Winnipeg police, they're "open!"
