Photos: Queen Elizabeth II tributes pour in worldwide as royal fans mourn Her Majesty's death

The world is paying tribute after Queen Elizabeth II "died peacefully" at the age of 96 on Sept. 8.

Her Majesty's passing came shortly after it was announced she was under medical supervision, prompting fans of the royal family and media members to strongly gather to show their support. Large crowds have gathered throughout the U.K., notably in front of Buckingham Palace, where successor King Charles III was greeted by fans of the royal family on Friday.

Canadians have also expressed their sympathies, as it comes into question what role the U.K. monarchy will play in Canada after the Queen's passing following a 70-year reign. The flag at Parliament Hill in Ottawa is currently flying at half-mast, with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau offering his sympathies.

As the world continues to mourn the U.K.'s longest serving monarch, tributes are flowing in in her honour in all shapes and forms.
