PHOTOS: Looks like winter again in Ontario after storm brings back snow

Winter has returned to much of Ontario following a relatively snow-free start to January, which featured several days of above-seasonal temperatures.

While some communities only saw a few centimetres accumulate, it was enough to transform neighbourhoods into winter wonderlands, with snow coating trees, cars, and fences.

Ottawa Airport picked up 26 cm of snow, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), while Pearson International Airport only recorded 7 cm of snow. 12 cm fell in Kitchener.

In addition to the rain, Ottawa and Gatineau both reported about 5 hours of freezing rain or freezing drizzle during the event.

The storm came with the usual aggravations, namely in the form of travel delays. But for some, the return to snowy weather was a cause for celebration.

Here's a look at the snow, in photos.
